Moving through the mundane days of my life, I look around at the little things that catch my eye, tiny details that captivate me, making me linger for a smile. I focus on the subtle things that bring joy. Observing every part that crosses my path, I see people walking around, to destinations unknown to me, living lives that are so vastly different from mine. To me, these moments are what make life worth living, the movement through everyday life without even realizing the motion that everyone is a part of. With my work, I explore the things that go unnoticed, I tend to focus on the little moments that pass as an afterthought, the small piece of trash on the ground could tell a story about its life, the ordinary yet unique lives of the people that pass by me… I want to learn all about the stories of these mundane things, how they become a part of the movement of life. As of recently, I have been extremely interested in the aesthetics of images of large crowds. Something about the stillness of the motion that is captured scratches my brain just right, the people within the crowds are all in the same place at the same time, each living the experience so differently, that thought is stuck in my head, where in the moment, everyone around each other does not realize the motion they are in. Through painting and film, I try to capture this movement, where I experimented a lot with the media, abstracting the world I see and feel.
